I took up yoga 2 years ago to supplement my running activities. You know how they say yoga makes you exercise muscles that you never knew you had before? Believe me, I know what that means.
The first time I tried a class was during the Yogazone days when one of my aunties was a member. I've heard a lot of things about yoga those days, one of them was a story of a girlfriend who loss a lot of weight from taking classes for a whole year.
So I joined one of the trial classes with my aunt and to tell you the truth, I did not enjoy it at all. It was boring and I didnt even sweat that much.
Fast forward a few years later when I was training for my first (and only.. for now) half marathon, I was looking for something to do on rest days. The gym I joined offered free yoga classes so i said to myself.. "what the heck, lets give this another go..". It was a monday class and oh my God i sweated like a pig. And my whole body ached for a week!
but....
I did feel a little different during my runs. So since then, i started doing yoga every monday. There were good days and there were bad days. There were days where the poses made me ache and there were ones that made me feel down ,feeling sad that i wasnt as limber as the other students. But little by little i felt my body change, and improve.
Okey.. so the whole point of me rambling about is only this.. After 2 years of trying and failing (its not like i do it in every class but sporadically.. whenever the teacher instructs us) i finally managed to do this..
and... OMG... the feeling is ....indescribable..
bangga gile mak, nyah!
;-)
