As part of a marketing campaign by Adidas, they have given out (for free) some of their high performance technical running shoes for runners to wear-test them and then to review the shoes on their blogs. Lucky for me, they had one in my size!
Adidas has a wide range of categories on their running shoes, ranging from Adistar, SuperNova, Venus, Response and Megabounce. The shoe that i got was the Response Cushion 17 (17th edition from the Response group) and is more of a mid-range performance shoe.
The first thing that i noticed about it, was how light it was which was a major difference from my previous one. Although, my old one was just on of those normal Ree*ok running shoes.
Apparently the specialty of the shoe is the layer of adiPRENE® (cushioning materials which respond to the different needs of the heel and forefoot, and absorbs impact in the heel, providing superior cushioning and protection) placed strategically throughout the sole of the shoe (its that pink layer u can see on the side). It also has a torsion system which (the pink Y shape on the sole) which keeps your foot stable throughout the run.
Still havent properly tested it except a very short run at Kiara yesterday and for now i think the difference between the Resonance and my old one is its lightness and comfortability. But then again that could because its still brand new. So maybe more to come on the shoe once ive properly used it.
