As part of our new-year-celebration-cum-lini's-hen-night, we rented an apartment in ampang...and thanks to this guy..i was able to hire a chef to prepare the food for a special private dinner..initially we wanted to have strippers... but did u know that it was a wopping RM500-RM800 to hire a stripper for forty-five friggin minutes..( i was actually surprised that stripper-services even existed in Malaysia) and the guy who offered cheaper rates was away in johor bahru that night..heee...so in the end it was just a simple but elegant dinner..

although the chef arrived slightly late ( it was raining cats and dogs.. and kl.. biasa la jam) we were able to get everything ready before maghrib..
The dinner started off with a fresh salad of tomato, cucumber, olives, fetta cheese, onions, with olive oil and lemon dressing, prepared just a few minutes before the guest of honour arrived...

we then had morrocon style meatballs given an italian touch with pesto sauce and grilled peppers..this dish was slightly spicy but it kinda went well with the soury cheese..

As our main dish we had Chicken roulade

( pronaunced roulaaaad and not rouled :P ) with a side dish of broccoli with cauliflower and béchamel sauce.. initially chef Alwi suggested pumpkin istead of broccoli- which we later found out was his signature dish.. but us girls werent really fond of the orange-veggie so we opted for broccoli ( i actually surfed the net to find what veggie/fruit would suitably replace pumpkin). The food was really rich and the chicken came with its own mushroom sauce which i really liked..
soo by the time for dessert, most of us were already really full..
but after some TV and fireworks, we topped it off with a dessert of dessert bread n butter pudding with custard sauce

all in all it was a good nite.. our bellys full.. the atmosphere cool and the fireworks pretty..id say a great way to start and end a year..my thanks to Daa for her creative mind and camera skills... Nogha, Tini,Fina and Che-In..too bad you couldnt join us zil.. and chef Alwi for his wonderful dishes.. to Lini.. i hope it was a memorable nigth for u...

I'm secretly wishing that The Man of My Dreams would come across your blog and find this when he's finally ready with my lord of the ring.
Nak pengsan nampak your food yang terlalu cantik untuk dimakan..
yoga_instructor: maybe ure man needs a little shove and a tug..point him to the right direction.. heheh..

the food tasted just as good as it looks.. :D
the hen nite is better off without the stripper. Attended a hen nite once (yep, it cost us RM500). The fella is a Fitness First instructor who donno how to move! All he did was wiggling around and groping everybody with his sweaty palms *shudder*
euuwww... nightmare..
