Kingdom of Heaven

If u enjoyed the gruesome fights in Gladiator.. or was inspired by the warriors in Troy, then Kingdom of Heavens is a must watch.and it wouldn’t hurt if u had some basic knowledge on the Crusades ( which i wish i did) This time, Orlando Bloom.. no longer a sissy.. pretty boy nor some self absorbed prince who’s willing to jeopardise his kingdom for some girl.. but a matured, wise... experienced and built (macho) black smith who turned king.

At first i was worried that the movie would condemn Islam or portray it like some evil, merciless or weak religion like Hollywood normally do, but surprisingly.. it kinda gave a fair picture of Islam and Muslims..I even liked the way Saladin was revered as a great Muslim leader, politician and gentleman.

Although the ending seems a bit blurry.. which could either be because we skipped the first 10 minutes of the movie or the fact that we sat on the second row from the front (thus 2 hours of straining your neck and eyes can make ANY movie ending blurry).. i really enjoyed it.. and it wouldn’t be such a surprise if i went to watch it again.. ( keeping in mind to get better seats next time)

mooke : i guess...for me.. maybe id feel guilty being able to accept a movie that actually says bad things about my religion. Even if i know its not true..i dont know.. its just self -guilt ( if exists suc a word)..

lini : best kan best kan?

I am not as much relieved that Muslims are portrayed as they were, as I was grateful and perhaps elated. Hollywood has always propagated Muslim / Arab stereotypes, it's refreshing to see a big budget movie not conforming to this.
