Made in India

So my sister just introduced me to this hilarious article and I think it's worth sharing here.

******************************
So about a year ago my sister and I embarked on this little business. It does not pay millions and most of you would consider it nothing but it was mine.. then became ours and for a short while it generated additional income for us. (Following Ramit's advise to not just save but to generate!)

Although sad to say we are ending this business union as both of us now have full time jobs ( I took a study leave for over a year so one of the reasons I started the business was to maintain my old lifestyle with less money as I was only getting a small monthly scholarship... [okey I was lying. its not a small amount but its less than what I was making before I quit my job la] and also so that I wouldn't get bored with nothing to do then home work and house work)

Anyway we were calculating our ROI (return on investments for u non finance people) and I think we sort of made a loss on this one. The monthly payments that we were getting were pretty okey but overall we forgot to take into account the cost of repairs and depreciation when we wanted to sell the assets.
So my point of this entry is to say that I think one of our biggest mistakes was that that we did not outsource some of the daily business operations or employed a staff for the company. We did most of the things on our own and we had to forego certain opportunities when either one of us were unavailable or just plain lazy.

Either way I didnt regret our short business venture as it did teach me a lot and in TVM (time value of money) terms I was getting my investments worth as I was getting a monthly cash flow and money was not just sitting in the bank doing nothing then collecting ASB profit etc. ( Right? If my theory is correct but even if my TVM mumbo jumbo is wrong.. u get my drift.. no? U dont? then go fly a kite!)

So if you read the article above you would be tickled by how the writer recommends that u outsource everything even if you dont own a business.  In other words outsourcing your life.

Take a read. Its a good one.

p/s. Based on the article I  just realized that MHM sneakily outsourced bill payments to moi! so instead of paying some guy from India to do it.. he gets his wife to do it!
Mmmmmm maybe I should ask for a raise on my monthly allowance.. hihihiihh...
