Testerone-y

Its been such a while since i ranted or bitched about the complexities and idiosyncrasies of this little bubble i live in. Altho from what i learnt from my very objectified friend, everyone has their fair share of problems. It could either be in the financial department, relationship with co-workers or subordinates or even in the spiritual sense. True to what she says, it is the age for that ... although i thought that all the drama would be over by 25. You know.. that quarter age crisis shit.

I maybe running for a race this weekend and I seriously am not ready for it. But i guess whats the point of all that exercise and gym hours (besides becoming healthy and getting a body oh-ala-gwen-stefani) if you dont try out for a decent race rite? So the plan is this: to run a little at the starting line so i dont look too much like a loser, walk as the crowd disperses and crawl to the finishing line when it starts to hurt...(although initially i had secret hopes of taking home one of those first 500 medals but to HELL with that.. im just gonna finish the course)

Which btw on a similar note, just because im thin (and fabulously toned and gorgeous ..a ha ha..) please dont question my need to go and sweat it off a bit at the gym or go for morning runs during the weekends, just because u guys enjoy sitting around doing nothing, and stuffing yourself with your wives cooking or dont really mind having that little bit of extra meat potruding from your baju kurungs. You know sometimes its a little tiring trying to convince people that exercising is not all about getting THINNER but its about getting HEALTHIER and its not just because I know ironmen but because i actually love doing it. Surprise surprise!

Did you listen to hitz fm this morning. They called up people and used Optimus Primes voice from the TRANSFORMER movie and manipulated it in such a way as if you were actually talking to him. mega(tron) cool weih! so shizzily funny, especially when the person on the other line is such a good sport and just goes a long with it. Yo Primo! you can call me anytime man.

Yeah. Im a geek. Tell me something i dont know.

Living in exile

Juno MacGuff: I'm losing my faith in humanity.
Mac MacGuff: Think you can narrow it down for me?
Juno MacGuff: I guess I wonder sometimes if people ever stay together for good.
Mac MacGuff: You mean like couples?
Juno MacGuff: Yeah, like people in love.
Mac MacGuff: Are you having boy troubles? I gotta be honest; I don't much approve of dating in your condition, 'cause well... that's kind of messed up.
Juno MacGuff: Dad, no!
Mac MacGuff: Well, it's kind of skanky. Isn't that what you girls call it? Skanky? Skeevy?
Juno MacGuff: Please stop now.
Mac MacGuff: [persisting] Tore up from the floor up?
Juno MacGuff: Dad, it's not about that. I just need to know if it's possible for two people to stay happy together forever, or at least for a few years.
Mac MacGuff: It's not easy, that's for sure. Now, I may not have the best track record in the world, but I have been with your stepmother for 10 years now and I'm proud to say that we're very happy.
Mac MacGuff: In my opinion, the best thing you can do is find a person who loves you for exactly what you are. Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, handsome, what have you, the right person will still think the sun shines out your ass. That's the kind of person that's worth sticking with.
Juno MacGuff: I sort of already have.
Mac MacGuff: Well, of course! You're old D-A-D! You know I'll always be there to love and support you no matter what kind of pickle you're in... Obviously
Juno MacGuff: I need to go out somewhere just for a little while. I don't have any homework and I swear I'll be back by ten.
Mac MacGuff: You were talking about me right?

I'm back in the island for the second consecutive week for a cousins wedding. The thing about weddings is as much as theyre a tiring event, theres plenty of food at hand. Real proof of the Malaysian tag line "Jom makan!". From the pre-wedding makan of laksa, to the savory main course and finally the sweet delicacies of bengkang, kek kukus, cream puffs(?) and kuih karas. Luckily for the kiddies (me included) the wedding hall was by the beach, which gave us the best excuse to go and play kites. So equipped with camera, baju kurung galore and all, we played.

And the people have spoken

I am back in the island again. Following the election results closely with the family.
The mood is slightly festive , astound and yet a little worried all at the same time.
It is a new experience for me.. having all this excitement over the elections.
The last time the votes were casted, I was still in London, ignorant to the happenings back home.
As we speak, the tv is blaring with announcements of the seats won, dad is writing away on his notepad and im at the compute, surfing the web results on malaysiakini and kl pos. All i can say is, it is apparent that this year the people have decided to voice out their concerns through the ballot paper.

I cant wait to see what will change and how the winners will make my life better or worse
