I came I saw and I ....... took photos..

After reading all the iRonman reports, teruja pulak aku to write MY version of the recent iRonman event. So anything below written in Malay is to be read ala gaya rempit with Utara slang. Coz that was what we did.. Ktorang merempit beb!!
One scooter ,one motor kapcai, two girls and a guy. Lets say there were some minor accidents during the merempit-ings but dont worry no iRonmen were harm in the event.
Since i didnt really participate and just became the groups unofficial photographer I can only give you the details camera wise.
Camera wise.. we definitely had some high end equipment. Our set consisted of a NikonD40X with 18-135mm kit lense, Canon Eos 200D and Canon EOS 40D with interchangeable lenses 90-300mm and 24-135mm.
And.... the best part is, for once my pictures were put to official use here
Yups.. i took those two pictures baybee..! although i have to give some credit to my motorbike driver for the second photo :)
This year's ironman definitely gave me a lot of chances to take some very good pictures as there were less people in Langkawi with the CNY crowd all gone back home and I got to go up until the beach where the starting line for T1 was and i didnt have to fight the crowd to take pictures of transition to T2. And it definitely helped that we traveled on motorbike as I was able to take photos ala ala official camera crew gituh. It is definitely an inspiring event and when you see the men and women.. short and tall.. thin and fat.. the disabled and the blind, you finally see that there is true meaning in Nothing is Impossible! Lepas tuh siap ada 3 marriage proposals plak tuh at the finishing line since it coincided with Chap Goh Meh.. and that was really touching to see...apa apa pon Congratulations to all the Ironman finishers!

Free range chickens

As preparation for this weekend, we went to watch the LTDL criterium around KL city to practice some sports photography. It was quite a work-out as we walked nearly the whole course of the race taking pictures in different spots with different backgrounds. At certain points, we were so close to the cyclists, that we could feel the wind gushing as they passed by. Sometimes it even felt like they were gonna crash into us. So here are a few favourite shots in random order. Btw.. it was really cool seeing all these photographers with their long, wide, zoom lenses in various positions.. Ahh really felt like part of the family .. :-p

And theyre off!!

Bontot cyclists with KLCC in the background

Static movement?
The boys in blue just taking off

Im the first bionic woman. Tada...

The advantages of youth sometimes i think is not so much in strength or health but in its optimism, naivity, and thirst for the unknown. Age as much as it provides wisdom, knowledge and experience but it also changes the inner core of a person as they go through real life struggles. I hope that no matter how old i am and no matter how much shit life has thrown at me.. i pray and i pray hard that i will never be too old that i am filled with only bitter resentment and cynicsm.. because by then i think life is just not worth living anymore.

The Big Family is aroud for a cousin's wedding and our small home is bustling with activitiy. Its nice to have everybody around but after a while I sort of miss the comforts of silence, the beauty of normal weekend activities and my moments of solitude. Everybody needs a little alone time to gather their thoughts, to recoup. So here i am, enjoying my little corner of seclusion in the endless world of internet. Dont you just love technology?

On a different note, i did still manage a short 6.2KM run with the bro and cous on Saturday and i am proud that i got to run/jog 5kms straight at a slow steady pace of 8.07/km (jumps up and down with joy!). I know ive done a 10km and 20km before, but i think the most i ran before i started a jog+walk combination was 4km. At first i only planned to jog 3km, walk and continue running but when i got there the legs still felt fine so I targeted 4km.. then as i got to the 4km mark i decided to push myself a bit and jogged until the5th KM. By then it was a good point to walk as the left ankle was already getting a little jiggy. So the last 1.2Km was just a little jogging, skipping and walking and boy did it feel good.

oh btw.. i read in Mens Health that running was the best exercise for the glutes... Hot buns here i come! :D
